Fifa decided to ignore calls to expel Iran from the World Cup.

I have to say that I agree with them. Though the same thing didn’t happen with Yugoslavia some time ago, I don’t think football should be governed by politics. If this would be true, USA should have two national squads (one with Bush supports, one with Bush opposers), Eastern Europe should have their own World Cup, while China could hold their own internal World Cup, only with Chinese teams.

More, I think sports may be the most important way of showing people other ways of life and provviding them information. If they wanna choose that way of life, that should be their choice to make.

I usually try not to bring politics in this site, but I do not think that a team that won their place fair and square should miss a sporting event because of some crazy leader. Sports are for everyone, not for a few selected…
