Klinsmann hopes to win
Klinsmann hopes that his supposedly last match as a coach of the German national team will be a win.
The period of national mourning is over. After the nerve-jangling semi-final defeat by Italy that dashed the host nation’s hopes of winning the FIFA World Cup™ on home soil, it is time for Germany to look to the future. And that future starts this Saturday at 9pm in Stuttgart’s Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion, where they will face Portugal in the match for third place.
Despite Tuesday’s semi-final defeat, Germany have since had something to celebrate, namely their first silverware at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Striker Lukas Podolski was the man in the spotlight, after being named Gillette Best Young Player on Friday.
