FIFAworldcup.com: What did you think of the Opening Match?
It was great to see Germany win and score four goals. It was really entertaining and interesting – a wonderful start to the World Cup and my weekend in Silverstone. I hope it gives Germany a big boost for the games against Poland and Ecuador, which I think will be a lot harder.

Do you think there is still some room for improvement?
There is always room for improvement, but I am sure that the coach and the team know what to do. I have to say that I found the performance of the team to be very energetic and exciting. It’s important to accentuate the positives.

As the F1 season continues, will you be able to watch the rest of Germany’s games in the FIFA World Cup™?
I will try. We’re going to the US and Canada shortly and I’m sure we’ll find a way to watch some of the games on TV. I will be having some days off before the Montreal race, so I will spend some time with my family and friends, hopefully relaxing in front of the TV. If Germany’s games are on, I’ll be cheering them on.

Who will win the FIFA World Cup – and how do you rate Germany’s chances?
I think that predicting the outcome of this World Cup is very difficult. Would anyone have tipped Greece for EURO 2004? Their performance in Portugal shows that every team who participate at a major tournament are able to compete at a high level. Of course I’m backing Germany and I am convinced they will do well. Seeing that I also drive for an Italian team, I would also like Italy to go far. But for me, the most important thing is to enjoy four weeks of entertaining football on the pitch and a wonderful atmosphere off it.
