Fans respond to a poll and say that opening game between Germay and Costa Rica (4-2 final score) was the most beautiful of the World Cup so far.

After the first two days of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, FIFAworldcup.com asked its users: “What’s been the most exciting game so far?” The clear winner was the Opening Match between Germany and Costa Rica, which accounted for 35 per cent of the total vote.

In second place was Argentina’s 2-1 win against Côte d’Ivoire, which incidentally proved the most popular on the German, French, Spanish and Italian versions of the website. Trinidad and Tobago against Sweden was the only scoreless draw so far, but this did not prevent it from coming in third.
