Parreira on Brazil rivals
Though everybody sees Brazil as keeping their World Cup title, Parreira, the coach, says he sees another team winning it.
He says he doesn’t really know which team will win the World Cup, but
Although his own team are the favourites, Parreira has told Kicker magazine that he believes there are 10 teams who are strong contenders to go all the way in Germany this summer.
Though he mentions some of the up-and-coming teams, he still feels that the threat comes from the already established football nations, like Argentina, England or Germany, even Italy, France or Czech Republic.
Still, he recognizes that they are the favourites and that he would like the 6th World Cup for Brazil, but he knows it will be difficult.
“We can’t deny that the whole world say we’re favourites, especially after the qualifiers and the Confederations Cup,” he told Redacao SporTV. “But favouritism doesn’t make us win the cup.
“Nobody wants the sixth World Cup title more than I do. We must put vanity to one side and work as a team to win the World Cup. Team-work must be the most important thing in Germany.”
