Serbia to play Uruguay in friendly
Serbia will probably play a match with Uruguay to warm up for the World Cup in Germany.
Serbia and Montenegro will play Uruguay in Belgrade on May 27 in a final warm-up for the World Cup finals, the country’s football association (FSSCG) said on Wednesday.
“A friendly match against Uruguay will be an excellent final test for the World Cup,” the FSSCG said in a statement.
Uruguay failed to qualify for the finals in Germany after losing out on penalties to Australia in the South America/Oceania play-off.
Serbia and Montenegro are drawn in Group C with the Netherlands, Argentina and Ivory Coast, for the tournament, which begins on June 9.
