World Cup frenzy for the Aussies
Following the unexpected qualification of their football team to the World Cup, Australian fans have flooded the agencies with request for tickets to Germany in 2006.
“It’s been overwhelming,” [operator The Fanatics]company founder Warren Livingstone told AFP. “In the past 24 hours we’ve had up to 1,200 to 1,300 people who have paid a deposit of 200 dollars (147 US). That’s crazy.”
Two-week tour packages of flights, accommodation and tickets to Australia’s games in Germany were likely to cost between 8,000 and 10,000 dollars, Livingstone said.
Still, something sure will be known only after the 9th of December, the date of the World Cup draw.
