Sweden’s Elamander out for three months
Brondby striker Johan Elmander, one of the candidates for Sweden’s squad at next year’s World Cup in Germany, will be out of action for up three months to recover from surgery on a finger, the Swedish daily Aftonbladet reported on Saturday.
Elmander, 24, hurt his left ring finger during a Royal League match against FC Copenhagen last year, has since played with a bandage and will undergo surgery next month.
Elmander has played 16 times for Sweden, scoring seven goals.
A good news/bad news kinda news, since Elamander will miss 3 months of preparing for the World Cup, but he will be in the best physical form in Germany.
