FIFA World Cup 2006 Winner
This is a question that will not be answered until July 2006. But, which are the teams that might win World Cup 2006?
As we already saw, with the exception of 4 teams, all the top 20 teams of the world will be present in Germany. Which will finally prevail?
First, everybody’s choice, Brazil. It is the first and, without a doubt, the main contender. With a team that has players like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Robinho or Adriano, they have a midfield and forward compartments that should scare any adversary. More, the defense is not one to be looked over easily: players like Roberto Carlos and Cafu don’t need more presentation, while the goalkeeper is Dida, AC Milan’s goalkeeper.
In the second row of contenders, we have great teams like Argentina, England, Italy, The Netherlands, France, Czech Republic or Spain. With players coming from all the great championships in Europe, every one of these teams may be the one to fight Brazil for the top spot. Players like Messi, Beckham, Rooney, Inzaghi, Del Piero, Van Nistelrooy, Zidane, Henry, Nedved or Raul don’t need any more presentation. Argentina was the only real adversary to Brazil in their qualifying games, England and Italy have experienced players, that need to finally make their mark on the World Cup. Spain and The Netherlands are the eternal contenders, with high hopes, great players, but they lack the results. Finally, Czech Republic want to show that they are a team to be considered in their first appearance at the World Cup since they were Czechoslovakia. And, don’t forget, they are FIFA’s number 2 in the national teams top.
The third row has some teams with history, like Germany, which is a very young team and can be a nice surprise, especially since they play at home. But, is Ballack, a great player, able to gather around him the youngsters of the team? More, South Korea, Ukraine, Mexic, Paraguay, Portugal, Sweden, Croatia, Australia will try their best to give the best performance ever.
Finally, the unknown: Angola, Costa Rica, Ghana, Iran, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Japan and the others. We may expect surprises, as we know it happened at the previous World Cup, where Senegal got France out, or the las European Cup, where Greece won a title nobody ever gave them a chance they would won.
