EU looking into FIFA’s World Cup ticket sales
As we already noticed, it seems there are some problems with the tickets selling for the World Cup in Germany 2006. And they seem to be more then annoyances, since EU is going to look into the problem, after complaints have been received.
Lawmakers from the European Parliament have complained to the Commission that FIFA is demanding immediate payment for match tickets being sold online without guaranteeing that applicants will actually get tickets.
“This issue was brought to our attention by more than one member of the European Parliament,” Commission competition spokesman Jonathan Todd told a daily media briefing.
This is quite an issue, if you think about it, since the price of the tickets is high enough to be more than a little annoyance in case you pay but don’t receive the tickets.
More on the problem, here.
