England’s Owen hopes to be fit to play in the World Cup 2006

Michael Owen broke a bone in his foot sometime ago (24th of December) and he will be sidelined for about 10 weeks because of that.

He hopes that this injury will not cause him to lose his place in the national squad for the World Cup.

“I have not had many injuries. But everyone gets their fair share and if it is any consolation it is a long time to the World Cup.

“From what the experts are telling me, it is going to be two-and-a-half to three months.

“Lots of people have had it, Rooney, Beckham, Gary Neville, Stevie Gerrard.”
