Claudia Schiffer talks about World Cup

Yeah, women love football too. Even great models have this passion. So, ladies, do not tell us that football is only for guys (unless you want to play it with us). The interview follows.

FIFAworldcup.com: What does it mean for you personally to carry the FIFA World Cup Trophy on to the pitch with Pele? Are you nervous?
Claudia Schiffer: Definitely. I’m totally thrilled. This is the highlight of my career.

What is your earliest or greatest FIFA World Cup memory?
I don’t remember any specific World Cup. For me, football always meant that we came together as a family and, in the summer we played football outside. I do have one vivid memory of the World Cup from 2002 when Brazil beat Germany. But that isn’t such a nice memory.

Are there any games at this FIFA World Cup that you really don’t want to miss?
Of course. The semi-final and the final are extremely important to me, as well as the games involving Germany and England.

What do you think of the stadiums in Germany?
The stadium here in Munich is the best of the lot for me. It is absolutely fantastic, especially the way it lights up a different colour according to who is playing. It’s superb.

What is your opinion of Germany as hosts?
Brilliant! I think we are wonderful hosts. Very friendly and helpful.

And one last question: how far can Germany go?
I hope they can go all the way to the final.

Rereading the interview, she doesn’t know too much. But still, a model talking about football?
