My name is Bogdan (Bobby) Voicu, Romanian born and still living in Romania.

I am quite passionate about sports and, since Romania wasn’t able to beat Armenia to qualify for the World Cup in Germany, I have chosen to create a website that would somehow cover for the terrible loss 

2006fifaworldcup.info is intended to keep you (and me) up-to-date with the latest news (of course, related to World Cup and, of course, the most important news), opinions and any information you might find necessary to know.

While I will update this site as much as possible, I have a big problem: I am limited to English news only, thus having a big amount of news about England, USA, Australia and the likes. So, if you want to help me by providing news about any other country, please, do so, as the English press doesn’t cover every team as they should.

More, I like players like Henry, Bergkamp, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, I think that Brazil will win the championship and Mexico will be the surprise, and I am a fan of Barcelona, Manchester United (yes, I know Henry and Bergkamp play at Arsenal) and, of course, Steaua Bucharest. I am not the kind of “only team” fan, and I will very much enjoy a game between Real Madrid and AC Milan, as I will be very happy when any Romanian team will win matches in European Cups.

Finally, I hope we will have a great championship.

P.S.: since I am Romanian and played about 10 years of handball, I would like to congratulate the Romanian Women Handball Team for their silver medal won at the World Cup in Russia in December 2005. You made us proud!
