Australia won the second leg of the play-offs to the Fifa World Cup in Germany in 2006 against Urugay.
They won the game 1-0 and qualified at the penalty shoot-outs with 4-2.
It seems like Germany is really good for the Aussies, since their last appearance at a World Cup was in 1974, in Germany.

Czech Republic beat Norway 1-0, Spain drew 1-1 with Slovakia and, in a dramatic match, Swiss lost 4-2 in Turkey (4-4 on aggregate, Switzerland qualifies on away goals).

In order for the Uruguay players to have more times to recover, they asked for the match to be played earlier than its initial start hour (9pm local time, 11pm GMT).
FIFA decided that the start hour should be 6pm local time, though Australia didn’t initially wanted to play earlier than 7pm.
